Our story

At the Hart we believe in great food, great wine and great company. We aim to provide the best locally sourced food, combined with an exciting variety of drinks to match. We place ourselves at the centre of local village life and make sure everyone receives a warm welcome.

In warm weather we have a lovely terraced area to the rear, including a beautifully cosy covered wooden seating area. with comfortable cushions and a scandinavian feel.

Inside the pub we have a modern bar area where you can relax and enjoy good conversation. When you’re ready to eat you can move to our inviting restaurant, which includes an interesting “Well table” – can you see to the bottom?

” Went in on Sunday around 3pm, no tables available, which was fine so we sat in the bar and had three pork roast dinners! It was the nicest roast dinner I have ever had…and I am fussy! Everything was cooked perfectly and the pork was lovely and moist!

The one and only thing I would say is that the waiter told us to ‘enjoy our meals’ but didn’t ask if we wanted any other sauces. A very small comment to add on a bloody marvellous roast dinner and I’m very much looking forward to coming back to try it again! 🙂 ”

” We hadn’t booked but requested a table for two and was given a lovely table that was well set out. The menu was very good as had a good range of fresh food. We where also given the specials board with additional household favourites.
My wife is celiac so needed a wheat free meal. They mixed and matched items from the menu so where able to offe fresh baked wheat free bread, camembert and a fresh tasty salad. I had the sticky ribs and chips with the skins on. It was delicious and the portions where very generous.
We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning. Great food and service. Well done. “
